SIMDA: real-time air and maritime intelligence
SIMDA (Sistema de Inteligencia y Monitoreo del Dominio Aeromarítimo, or Air and Maritime Domain Intelligence and Monitoring System) brings vessels, aircraft, radars, satellites and ports together in a Common Operational Picture. It strengthens the Mexican Navy's situational awareness at sea and in the air, on 100% private infrastructure.
Due to the nature of the project, I can't share further details or screenshots.

The challenge
Unify national air and maritime traffic from dozens of different sources, without a single piece of data leaving for the cloud.
Analyze everything with AI to produce alerts and reports automatically, without relying on hours of manual analysis.
What I built
A Common Operational Picture
A single pipeline ingests data on vessels, aircraft, radars, satellites and ports, and shows it together on one map instantly.
AI anomaly detection
It correlates every source and detects anomalous behavior, such as vessels or aircraft that stop broadcasting, false positions or oil spills.
Attribution and evidence-backed reports
It attributes each event to those likely responsible and produces the report with its evidence in seconds.
An AI agent that operates the system
From the chat, an AI agent running on the Navy's own servers carries out more than 80 actions: it navigates the map, finds vessels, aircraft or areas and analyzes the data from every source about a specific region or object. It answers by voice or text, with permissions and audit trails.
Gesture control
The Common Operational Picture and the AI agent also respond to hand gestures in front of the camera, without touching the keyboard or mouse.
Technology chosen with care
I researched and compared options for every piece of the system, and picked the ones that do the job at the lowest cost.

The result
- In production at week 8. Seven months in, it keeps growing.
- Reports that used to take hours of analysis now take seconds.
- No data ever left the Navy's premises.
